Selwyn

Photo from Selwyn

The Selwyn River and its tributaries have supported small-scale placer gold mining since 1898. During the Klondike Gold Rush, this short-lived centre consisted of a NWMP post, telegraph station, and post office. Later, this settlement became one of many wood camps providing fuel for the sternwheelers.
